You can ride horses in the Vail area even in the winter time! One of Sandstone Creek Club’s favorite outfitters, Sage Outdoor Adventures, offers amazing rides with a guide at their spectacular ranch north of Wolcott. Imagine riding a horse surrounded by snow and endless mountain views! You might even learn something about our flora and fauna and how to identify animal tracks as this guest did:

“I recently returned from a family ski vacation to Vail and one of the highlights of the week was horseback riding with Leslie at Sage Outdoor Adventures. It was amazing! The horses were absolutely beautiful and the scenery was stunning; breathtaking views of the mountains and freshly fallen snow from the night before. We took a leisurely ride around the property, up and down the mountains – on trails and off trails. Leslie took pictures with our cameras and with her own (and texted us all the pictures she had taken same day for free!) I, a novice rider, rode Mitzi while a friend who was a much more seasoned rider rode Snip… we both absolutely loved our afternoon and would highly recommend Leslie and SOA. One other nice touch was the hot chocolate, cookies and heat lamp at the end of the ride… absolutely a must do!”
